The Jumping Off Point
There comes a time when the time has come. When that itch in the back of your soul must be itched or you will burn with what could have been.
You want to do something different. You think they'll laugh at you or you'll flop. But the pull is there and the desire is there to experience God by doing something that is risky - something beyond you.
Great art is created by someone who 'couldn't not do' something. Great businesses are started by people whose idea must come to light in the world of commerce. Impactful ministries are born out of a desire to make a difference where a difference isn't being made.
They won't - we won't - laugh at you. And if you do hear laughter, it might be the laughter of God's delight seeing His child make bold moves. Fear will tell you a thousand sit still lies, but faith will shove you off a mountain and hand you a parachute of deliverance. And let's be straight, faith in yourself is fine. You need some of that to get out of bed. But faith requires a much bigger object than you or me, goofy bipedal messes. Faith requires an object of transcendence and meaning. Jesus is the most worthy object of our faith.
Jump and trust. Trust that your salvation is secure in Christ so even if you splat you smile on the way down. Trust that God calls weaklings to do strong things so He can flex and show His might.
